I have tried on several occasions to upload photos but it does't work just keeps saying image is too big. The best ones are available to view on my blog page.
Great that you have all arrived safely. We are very proud of you and look forward to hearing about your trip and seeing the photos. Read your travel arrangements on hotmail and look forward to seeing you on 8th. Enjoy your time in Mongolia.
Great news to hear that you have reached your destination, albeit without the wonderful taxi! You did everything you could to get it through the Mongolian border. I imagine that CDPF will be able to do the negotiations to get it imported to Ulaanbaatar before too long.
Huge congratulations to all of you...taxi and ambulance crew. We are very proud of what you have achieved.
Looking forward to seeing you before too long and to hearing of all your adventures at first hand.
Much love to you all from Sylvia (Mum), John (Dad) & Tim & Grandma (Jean)
We made it to the Mongolian border, thanks to your repairs the car was OK on the roads, they were very bad to Irkutsk though, sometimes they were just rocks and mud.
We are home in England now and the car is waiting to be collected by the charity.
Nice one Hugh for getting back to us. Really glad you made to UB and with the car. Just seen the photos my favourites titled 'swarm' and the 'mongolian ones'. Also looks like the exact moment you had that lighting storm in Astana Kazakhstan it was happening with me in Semey Kazakhstan freaky. It must of been difficult with all the problems with the car, at any time did you feel the Skoda wasn't going to make it. I have just sent you a personal message.
Driven by Stig Blomquist and built by Ben Rainsford, this V8 Mk 1 Capri Perana (the Perana name was coined for the V8 Capri conversions in built and sold by Basil Green in South Africa) is a very rare and special car indeed. When it was sold on after the London-Sydney Rally, Ben rather coyly would only say the sale price was enough for 12 years of school fees for his kids! - That's a lot of cash ... but it was lot of car with a lot of pedigree. It's new owner (Paul Darrouzet, Australian business man and historic rally participant) entered it into a couple more historic rallies, including the East Africa (Kenya) Safari, and the Sud-America (Argentina). It crashed out of the London -Sydney 2004 in spectacular fashion by all accounts! You got to think that was an expensive crash!
You're posting this on the site for the Mongolia Charity Rally run by Charity Rallies! Perhaps a read of this site, a look at the photos from the teams, and a chat in the forums will help get you going.
Nobody is going to stop you paying £650 to drive to Mongolia with the profit making Adventurists, but a lot will wonder why you did after you found this site and the not-for-profit Charity Rallies!
"Nearly without exception, every team I met on the Mongol Rally along the way expressed concern with the way things had been run for them; many of them explicitly saying they'd wished they'd heard of Charity Rallies earlier than they did (i.e. before they forked out cash to The Adventurists)."
Whaw you booth did a great job and a wonderfull expirience.
I can understand in the comments that leaving this car must be hard after
such an adventure. Let"s hope that it will continu a marvelous second or even a eternal live in Mongolia.
We"re looking forward to see you and the girls(our daughters) are realy
excited to hear the story's and comments.

I don't now much about the Mongolia Cahrity Rally, I would actually much prefer to take part in a rally that does charge as much as 650 to take part, thanks for your reply Becky

Keep it safe mate. A rest day sounds a good idea! Good to see you and the bike holding up..... who needs one of those overpriced overweight BMWs

Thanks again for your help,

Can you upload the best ones to your team pages and tag the locations? We can then see them on the map with all the other teams photos. Thanks.
